Guitar Setup Stability

Friday, August 15th, 2008

I have been getting letters thanking me because the guitars are arriving well set up and in tune.

I wanted to thank you for your kind words. It means a lot to me that my customers truly enjoy their guitars.

I also wanted to tell you that I set up each guitar twice. I set up each guitar as it is finished, then I hold the guitar for a few days while Richard takes his photos, and then I redo the setup.

My guitars are designed to be as stable as I can possibly make them. But, I have learned that, whatever the design, all guitars move.

They “settle in” as they get used to being under string tension. Most of the movement happens over the first few days, so holding the guitar and setting it up a second time gives our customers a better set up when they open the case, and helps keep it that way.

I know that many of my customers want to have the guitar shipped the moment I can put strings on it, but the short wait makes for a better guitar - and great photos.

Photo fun!

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

I’ve gotten some questions lately about how I take the pictures you see on this website.

I couldn’t do it without a lot of help.

So, here and now, I will reveal the magic that makes it happen…

It’s not me, it’s Jeano. He has the ability to levitate guitars!

Here’s proof - below is a genuinely unretouched photograph:

New Prices Set

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

I want to thank everybody who wrote to me with advice about our price increase.

After looking at our finances and your comments, I have raised the base price of the guitars approximately 7 percent. I have also raised our option prices based on increases in the prices we pay for parts, and on how difficult and time consuming they are for us to add to a guitar.

Rich has posted our prices on the page for each guitar model.

Links Page is up

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

We’ve added a links page to our site. As of now, it links only to a few friends, but I will expand it as I can.

I just know I’m going to forget some friends and important people, and I apologize in advance, but feel free to write me if you want to link.

Our new Fusion Batch and Pricing

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Hi everyone, welcome to our Blog!

Just wanted to say that we’re getting close to finishing the batch of 22 Fusions that we’re working on. I hope they’ll be ready for delivery by the end of July or the first week of August. I built a double batch this time so we would have somthing for sale on the website. As of now I think we have 9 or 10 still for sale. Richard will post the specs for you.

As a company we have found ourselves in a position, due to the rising costs of everything, that we have to raise our prices. This is not something I take lightly. I know how hard people work for their money, and I know I work awfully hard for my money.

You people that have purchased my guitars have been wonderful customers and some of you have turned into real friends. I thank everyone of you for making it possible for me to build these guitars.

With this being said I would like to ask you all if you have any thoughts on how much of an increase in price would be fair to both of us. I go to work every day and try to build the finest guitar available and I try to do this at a price point that is affordable. Without you my customers I’m out of business but if I don’t raise my prices I’ll be out of business also.

I just want to be fair to everyone. Thank you for your thoughts.
